As we approach the end of the semester, we write to share news of events and opportunities available to you. We hope you’ll take a break at one or more of these upcoming events.

All events below are in Eastern Time, free, and open to all students unless otherwise noted. 

University Life Events & Opportunities

  • Campus Conversations (In-Person). We’re hosting student-led Campus Conversations throughout April. Upcoming topics include:
  • Grad Hangout: Afro-Caribbean Dance Workshop (In-Person). University Life invites you to join us for our final Grad Hangout of the semester! Led by instructors from Cumbe Dance, experience the energy, passion, and community rooted within Afro-Caribbean dances and rhythms. Wednesday, April 17, 2 - 3 p.m. Register here.
  • Navigating Disability Disclosure Conversations (Virtual). Join University Life in collaboration with the Columbia Health Disability Services for a workshop exploring how to disclose a disability. We’ll discuss how to navigate conversations with faculty, future employers, and friends, as well as relevant disability policies. Thursday, April 18, 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. Register here.
  • LGBTQIA+ Faculty Roundtable (In-Person). University Life, in partnership with the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement, invites you to a roundtable event where Columbia Faculty will share their experiences navigating their identities as members of the LGBTQIA+ community in higher education. Dinner will be provided. Thursday, April 18, 6:30 - 8 p.m. Register here.
  • Campus Conversations: LGBTQIA+ Rights & Advocacy (In-Person). This workshop will explore our understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities and experiences and the impact of recent legislation in the U.S. on the lives of LGBTQIA+ people.  Lunch will be provided. Friday, April 19, 1 - 2:30 p.m. Register here.
  • Night at Butler: Campfire Hangout (In-Person). Join the University Life Events Council and Columbia University Libraries for a night to relax and decompress before finals! Activities include a scavenger hunt, a ghost story room, nature crafts, board games, themed snacks (in Kent Hall), swag and more. Wednesday, May 1, 5:30 - 7 p.m. Register here. 
  • Baccalaureate Service (In-Person). Religious Life invites graduating seniors to participate in this multi-faith ceremony. Service highlights include musical performances, reflections, and readings by students from diverse faith traditions, and a custom pin for all graduates who attend. This event is for undergraduate students and their guests. Sunday, May 12, 10 - 11:15 AM. Learn more and register here
  • Yoga Class (In-Person). Take a break and relax at this yoga class in Earl Hall, hosted by Religious Life. Please bring your own mat and arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign in and set up. Thursday, April 18, 7 - 8 p.m. Learn more.
