  • War Stories: How Do We Talk About War? (In-Person). This seminar series will explore how stories about war shape us by considering various types of literature across history – from the Trojan War to the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sponsored by the Columbia University Center for Veteran Transition and Integration. Every Thursday in July, 5:30 - 7:00 PM. Register here.

  • How Data Happened: An Author Talk with Chris Wiggins (In-Person) Learn about  the history of data and its technical, political, and ethical impact on our world during this conversation hosted by The Hub at Columbia Business School. Chris Wiggins, author, professor and Chief Data Scientist at the New York Times, will discuss his new book. Coffee and pastries will be provided. Tuesday, July 18, 5:00 - 6:00 PM. Register here.
  • Social Media and Kids: Columbia Experts Discuss What's In the News (Virtual). Join experts from Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) for a conversation exploring the science behind recent health advisories on adolescent social media use and how to talk about social media with parents, caregivers, children and adolescents.
