Resources and Support Following the Shooting in Kansas City

Dear Students from the Kansas City-area,

I’m reaching out to provide support in the wake of the shootings that occurred yesterday at the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl celebration. Whether or not you or your loved ones have been directly impacted, I encourage you to seek support from your community, including here at Columbia. 

Should you need or want additional support at this time, University resources are available:

• Support from your school: Contact the Dean of Students office for your school. Many of the University’s counseling and wellness resources are available to you as well. 
• Other University supports: 
  • Morningside and Manhattanville students: Counseling and Psychological Services offers individual counseling, support groups, and drop-in hours.
  • CUIMC students: Student Health on Haven offers support sessions, individual counseling, and support groups.
  • For spiritual support, you can connect with a Religious Life adviser.
