Regarding today’s shooting on the N Train in Brooklyn

Dear Columbia Community Members,

We are writing to you in light of the deeply disturbing attacks on the New York City subway this morning during rush hour. As you may have seen, multiple people were shot and injured on the N train as it moved through the Sunset Park neighborhood in Brooklyn.

This shocking news can provoke anger and anxiety, especially as we are witnessing increased violent crime in New York City. It is normal to have concerns and fear about safety right now. For this reason, we are sharing resources available to you, should you need them.

Columbia’s Department of Public Safety provides a range of resources and services to the Columbia community.
