This virtual fireside chat features co-founders of Voltpost, CEO, Jeff Prosserman ('22SPS, Sustainability Management) and COO, Luke Mairo ('22SPS, Sustainability Management). The conversation will be moderated by Connie Koh ('23SPS, Applied Analytics), working group member of the SPS Entrepreneurs Network. The conversation will be focused on Jeff and Luke's journey from Columbia University as students to the founding of Voltpost, an electric vehicle charging company with the mission to democratize access to electric vehicles and securing $1.3M in funding.

About the Speakers

Jeff Prosserman is the Founder and CEO of Voltpost, where he directs product and company development with a mission to decarbonize mobility by democratizing charging access. He is a business and product management executive focused on strategy, design, and innovation. Expertise spans electric vehicle charging, mobile, TV, XR, IoT, and sustainability. As the former Samsung Director of Innovation, Jeff led a cross-functional team to develop mobile, TV, and digital appliance platforms at the intersection of trends and technology. Some products that he led development for include Samsung Podcasts, Family Hub, and first Samsung mobile AR camera apps. Prior to Samsung, Jeff was senior producer at The Daily, the first mobile publication at News Corp. Over his career, he produced projects with WarnerMedia, IBM, BBC Worldwide, Dell, Mashable, Giphy, Johnson & Johnson, and many other brands. Jeff received his master's in Sustainability Management at the Columbia University. Jeff is charging forward to make a positive impact for his kids and the next generation.

Luke Mairo is a financial professional with experience across banking, management, and entrepreneurship. He is the Co-Founder and COO of Voltpost, a hardware-as-a-service company that transforms lampposts into modular electric vehicle charging stations. He leads finance, operations, and business development for the company. He was previously a coverage banker at Barclays’ Corporate Bank focusing on energy and technology companies. Luke co-chaired the Barclays Environment Network of the Americas, managing the US environmental activist activities at the bank. He was nominated for the Barclays Citizenship and Diversity award for his leadership at the Network. In addition to his work at Voltpost, Luke has a Masters in Sustainability Management from Columbia University. He was the President of the Environmental Entrepreneurs at Columbia, a student organization focused on educating, mentoring, and incubating climate tech entrepreneurs and startups at Columbia's Climate School programs. He is also an Impact Society Member at NEXUS. Luke firmly believes that the climate crisis at hand must be solved through innovation, and a concentrated, supportive, and collaborative effort across networks.

About the Series 

The SPS Entrepreneurs Network presents its inaugural speaker series to coincide with the launch of the new shared interest group for SPS alumni, students and faculty interested and involved in entrepreneurship, startups, and venture capital. The group aims to foster a thriving community at SPS to connect and share knowledge, opportunities, and resources in entrepreneurship through virtual and in-person programs and events.
