Offering support in light of Kilauea

Monday, May 7, 2018

I write to express concern for those of you with friends and family who may be affected by continuing news of earthquakes and safety evacuations related to Kilauea Volcano’s recent eruptions on Hawaii's Big Island.

We especially want to share resources for support as you are finishing the semester and may be worried about friends and family, and returning home. In addition to your individual school deans of students, these university-wide resources are available to offer assistance:

Morningside Campus: Counseling and Psychological Services - 212-854-2878
http://health.columbia.edu/

Medical Center Campus: Mental Health Services - 212-305-3400
http://www.cumc.columbia.edu/student-health

The Office of the University Chaplain offers faith-based support and spiritual counseling - 212-854-1493
http://ouc.columbia.edu/

If you need assistance please don't hesitate to contact your dean of students, any of the above resources, or the Office of University Life (universitylife@columbia.edu). Our thoughts are with you.

Sincerely,

Professor Suzanne B. Goldberg
Executive Vice President for University Life
Herbert and Doris Wechsler Clinical Professor of Law
